Manjit Kaur Gill, LLB (Hons)
Principal Solicitor & Family Mediator
Mrs Gill is the Principal Solicitor at our firm and has been Practising for 20 years.
Mrs Gill is recognised as a well rounded lawyer being able to show compassion and empathy to her clients, whilst remaining robust in her approach with opponents, to obtain the best possible outcome for her clients.
Mrs Gill’s growing reputation allowed her to build up a nationwide client base and in 1997 was appointed Head of Department for Family and Immigration, later being appointed Head of Department for Litigation in 1999. She has been recognised for her talents as a Family Lawyer and became a member of Resolution (formerly known as the Solicitors Family Law Association) in 1998 and the Law Society’s Family Law Panel in 2000.
In 2002, Mrs Gill founded M K Gill Solicitors with the head Office situated in Gravesend Kent. In 2009, due to her growing success and to cater for the needs of her clients, Mrs Gill set up a second office in 2009, in Hounslow, Middlesex.
As a highly passionate and self-motivated individual, Mrs Gill not only has a progressive attitude to succeed, but also to exceed clients’ expectations by going the “extra mile”. Mrs Gill has therefore maintained a very high standard of service throughout her career.
With a successful track record and a professional manner, Mrs Gill prides herself on being able to take a sensitive, constructive and non-confrontational approach to negotiate settlements whist maintaining the ability to be vigorous and influential when required. It is through her years of rigorous analysis and preparation which has enabled her to hone these skills, much to the benefit of her clients.
Mrs Gill is also a qualified Resolution Family Mediator.

Mrs Gill has a wealth of experience in all aspects of family law and has also obtained many positive outcomes for her clients in Asian marriages, especially with regards to dowries and cultural issues. She has often been praised by the District Judges in the Kent County Courts, for her preparation and high quality representation.
Mrs Gill is also an Immigration Specialist and has been dealing with Immigration Law since 1993. The extensive experience gained over the years has provided Mrs Gill with the requisite knowledge and experience needed to achieve her clients’ objectives.
She has been instructed on a matter before the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC), which is the Superior Court of Record in the UK dealing with cases of National Security and also matters relating to persons deprived of British Citizenship. As well as achieving a successful outcome for her client before SIAC, Mrs Gill has also been successful in many other high profile immigration cases, asylum matters, nationality decisions and policy matters, including human rights issues and applicability of EU Law.
This has included Judicial Reviews, Statutory Review, Appeals before the First-Tier and Upper Tribunals and appeals to the Court of Appeal.
Significant cases involving complex and novel issues, of high political sensitivity included the following:
- BB v SSHD: SC/26/2003 - Challenge to the decision of the Entry Clearance Officer to refuse re-entry to an Indian National resident in the UK on the basis of national security. The matter was conceded before it went to court on the basis of representations made.
- Challenge to the Secretary of Sates’ Domestic Violence Policy now part of the Immigration Rules. Matter was conceded on basis of representations made.
- Judicial Review challenge to the Secretary of State’s decision to remove Students and Spouses in breach with Immigration Policy.
- Challenge to the Secretary of Sates’ decision to refuse a client’s claim for asylum. The client was the victim of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Sierra Leone and faced the very real threat of FGM being re-performed on her and for the first time on her daughter. The matter went to appeal before the Immigration and Asylum Chamber of the First-Tier Tribunal where the Secretary of States’ decision was successfully overturned on the basis of representations made.
In addition to the above, Mrs Gill also has extensive experience in other areas of law including Civil Litigation, Wills & Probate and Employment Law.
Dilshad Kaur Judge, LLB (Hons)
Senior Associate Solicitor
Dilshad Kaur Judge is a graduate of Thames Valley University. Dilshad has 8 years’ post-qualification experience and has worked at firms in the local surrounding areas for over 10 years. Dilshad is the head of the Family and Litigation departments. Specialising in matrimonial matters she predominately deals with Divorce, Separation, Financial Settlement, Children Act Proceedings and Injunctions (non molestation & occupation orders).
Dilshad’s has a sympathetic approach towards her clients and has the ability to advise clients at all levels, thus ensuring they understand the procedures involved and have a complete understanding of the processes to be pursued on their behalf. Dilshad has the ability to deal with the most demanding and complex high net worth clients in respect of financial settlements including trusts / properties overseas and spouses who fail to co-operate with Court procedures / timetables.
Dilshad’s robust approach ensures that her clients are able to rely on her to effectively manage the case and ensure the matter progresses to avoid delays and wasted costs being incurred. Dilshad has the best interest of her clients at heart and is extremely passionate in ensuring that her clients are rewarded a fair settlement either through negotiations or through a final order. In addition, Dilshad advocates her own cases providing consistency and a familiar and reliable face to her clients throughout their proceedings. However, Dilshad also deals with Civil Litigation, Wills and Probate.
Krishan Dassaur, LLB (Hons)
Graduating with an Honours Degree in LLB Law at the University of Reading, Krishan then obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Law.
Having entered the legal profession in 2007 and worked and trained locally ever since, Krishan is an Assistant Solicitor at our Firm with a wealth of knowledge and experience in matters relating to Immigration and Asylum, Civil Litigation, Landlord & Tenant, Employment Law and Court of Protection.
Krishan possesses the ability to communicate fluently with clients in not only English, but also in Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu and so is able to cater to the needs of clients from many different cultures and backgrounds. In doing so, he is able to ensure that clients fully understand the advice being given to them so that they may take a calculated and considered approach.
Particularly renowned for his brutal honesty and highly refined drafting skills, Krishan has a record of ensuring that his clients are represented in a fair, but firm when necessary, manner which is not only effective but can assist in keeping the clients’ legal costs at a minimum. He is a confident individual and is not fazed by any challenge put before him.
Having joined our firm in 2010, he quickly built up a rapport with clients past and present. Aiming to stand side by side with his clients to overcome the adversities they face, it is his mantra not just to make clients but to build relationships.
Sonam Meyon, LLB (Hons)
Sonam is a Law Graduate from Brunel University, London and having successfully completed her Legal Practice Course at the University of Westminster; she is now on her way to becoming a qualified solicitor by progressing through the SRA’s training requirements.
Starting out as a Legal Assistant, Sonam has been quick to demonstrate her legal knowledge and by producing a high quality of work has rapidly progressed to becoming a valued member of our firm, currently as a Trainee. Sonam predominately assists the Family Law Department with matters of Divorce, Children Act Proceedings and Financial disputes. Her support and skills are also utilised in other Departments within our firm such as Immigration, Litigation and Conveyancing.
In addition to the above, Sonam also provides assistance with the day to day administration at our Slough Office.
Harinder Singh, MSc. (Hons)
Harinder Singh has been with our firm since it was established in 2002 as our Practice/Accounts Manager.
A Master of Sciences who has received professional training in accountancy, Harinder also has a wealth of experience in working for a multinational organisation. There, he worked alongside the Accounts Department and the Company Director in ensuring systems/procedural sustainability.
Harinder is not only academically gifted therefore, he also has a great aptitude for managing people, business affairs and the systems in place to ensure the smooth running of our business.
Harinder has also received extensive training over the years to advance his understanding of various accounting software such as Sage, Prophet and LawByte and also to keep him abreast with the ever changing regulatory requirements of the SRA. Harinder uses his working knowledge of the aforesaid to manage the firm’s Accounts/Finance Department, in particular client billing.
As the Practice Manager, Harinder also heads the Human Resources Department.
Assistant Practice Manager
Having worked in the legal environment since 2000, Diane is an experienced Personal Assistant and has been working at our Firm since its inception in 2002. During this time, she has developed an extensive knowledge of legal procedures and has refined her skills by predominantly assisting the Principal Solicitor, and occasionally other fee earners, with the preparation of Court documents and routine correspondence. Diane interacts with clients on a daily basis, both over the telephone and in person.
In addition to the above, Diane also assists the Practice Manager with the day to day administration at the Gravesend Office. Her experience enables her to assess the needs of the client and to then take the necessary action, whilst maintaining a professional and considerate approach at all times. Her unrivalled client care skills also allow her to deal with the most demanding situations in a caring and efficient manner.
